Dear Friends and neighbors:
Serving the public for the last 12 years has been a satisfying experience, and I will continue to be an advocate for lower taxes for Fulton County residents as long as I am the Fulton County Tax Commissioner.

In the last four years the Tax Commissioner’s office has done a lot for Fulton County residents:

  Ø   Exemplary collections enabled

o       Fulton County to have a surplus of $141Million in 2007

o       Reductions in millage rate year after year, saved taxpayers money.

Ø    Without foreclosing on property for five years we were still able to maintain a 
99% collection rate.

Ø    Restored the homestead credit to South Fulton residents to reduce their tax liability.

Ø     Our unique program of offering payment plans to seniors has been a blessing to many; in 2007 we managed over 700 senior payment plans.

Ø     Opened state-of-the-art full service tax offices in Alpharetta and Greenbriar Mall.

Ø     Fulton County residents can now renew motor vehicle tags or pay taxes and solid waste fees on line using credit cards.

Ø    Our TV show, “Tax Matters” allows me to stay in touch with the public with the latest relevant news and tax information.

In 2008 plans have been drawn to renovate the north and south service centers and complete the installation of a new tax system to better serve the public. I hope that in the next Legislative session, a bill I supported to eliminate the birthday tax on motor vehicles will have a better fate than in 2008.
